Kempinski Hotel Cancun

This was my second Kempinski stay, after visiting the Munich property during Oktoberfest a few years ago, and once again the service was outstanding. The staff are what make this hotel special—friendly, professional, and genuinely focused on creating a great experience. The property features beautiful Mexican sculpture and artwork that gives it a unique, traditional character. We booked through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts, which added some nice Club Level perks. The pools were crystal clear, and while the beach was experiencing the seasonal sargassum issue we expected, swimming in the sea was still enjoyable with a little extra effort. The food and beverage program felt elevated, and everything I ate was delicious. Despite the staff’s efforts to keep the rooms clean and the property well maintained, the rooms could use a cosmetic refresh, as some of the furniture is showing its age. This is an excellent choice for travelers looking for a refined, quieter alternative to the large all-inclusive resorts, and I would happily return.

These people could teach lessons on how to do luxury customer experience. This was our third stay at this hotel - our second visit since converting from a Ritz to Kempinski. The service across the property was off-the-charts outstanding. If I could rate 6 stars I would. I wish I had made a note of everyone’s name, so I could brag on each of them specifically. It started with the doorman, the front desk staff and the concierge who walked us through our (very fast) check in and accompanied us to our room. With the exception of dinner one evening, we ate every meal at the resort, culminating our last night with dinner on the beach (Casitas.) Moses, our lead waiter, deserves a special thank you for the way he and his team managed our entire evening. I highly recommend booking this beach dinner. Osman, Jose and Orbelin at breakfast each day got our days off to a fantastic and spoiled beginning. Reuben at the concierge desk provided similarly outstanding service. Fantina was fine dining in every sense. The property itself is what you would expect of a very high-end resort. But the people and service is what separates this place, and is why we will be back again next year. (Book the Club Level. You’ll be glad you did.)

Kempinski is truly a 5 Star experience. Everyone is available for any need you may have. Nothing is a problem. Our pool attendant Rangel made sure we were well taken care of every day, setting us up with pillows and umbrellas. He was truly professional and loved his job!! We love this place, which is why we have been coming for the last 13 years.

I would like to mention the waiter in buffet his name is Osman. He has always been very helpful, sencerely friendly and personified Mexican hospitality. On facility I’d like to mention a hot tab and sport gym with saunas. The service at pool and beach areas was great. Therefore we will again come back to Kempinsky. We had a wonderful stay at Kempinski Cancun! Having previously visited when it was a Ritz-Carlton in 2019, we were pleased to see the hotel has maintained its exceptional standards. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed in the stunning lobby by Migdelia, whose hospitality made us feel instantly at home. We stayed in the Saasil Suite, which features its own private infinity pool—a fantastic choice that meant we rarely needed to visit the main pool. The Club was another highlight, offering five delicious meal presentations daily, making it an outstanding value. Special thanks to Gloria, Aaron, Willie, Saul, and Oscar in the Club for making our stay truly memorable.

I don’t write many reviews and almost always write one when things are amazing as when they are not I just don’t visit the same place again. I have been visiting this place since 2000 (14 times) back when it was the Ritz Carlton and it has always been amazing!!! I haven’t left a review in the past because most of the reviews are already so good and I didn’t see the value in leaving one. My wife and I are currently here again for a week and today I met Ruben who leads the hospitality team and Nallely who leads the housekeeping team by the pool. After my conversation I felt compelled to leave a review after so many years. First of all the place has always been amazing from the exceptional service, accommodations, food and location. My wife and I have stayed at some of the most well recognized hotels all over the world and always come back here! In Cancun specifically we have stayed at the Waldorf, Banyan Tree, Fairmont , and SLS and we always leave saying the Kempinski is still the best. There is truly nothing like it! Very classic old school elegance (think crystal chandeliers, marble all over and paintings) amazing food , service , in an amazing setting! Meeting Ruben and Nallely today just validated our thoughts even more. They have so much pride in what they do and Ruben is just so passionate about the property and its history. The Kempinski is lucky to have them! While we have ‘liked’ other hotels in Cancun most have what I characterize as ‘contrived’ hospitality. If you have ever been to NYC I would use The Plaza as the best example. You stay at the Plaza for its old school elegance hospitality and service. And it always feels authentic. It’s not the newest modern hotel and it’s the only place I would stay in NYC. Same about the Savoy in London. Classic elegance with amazing service and the only place I would stay in London. If you’re looking for the most elegant hotel in Cancun with the very best service , food and hospitality there is nothing like the Kempinski. This feels more like a family run hotel. If you want loud DJ’s and a non stop crowded party this is not the place.It’s truly a head scratcher why the Kempinski is not more crowded when we visit but we will take advantage of the best kept secret in Cancun while we can! On another note the fine dining restaurants are absolutely some of the very best we have ever visited! Maybe someday people will finally figure out this is the best place to stay. In the meantime my wife and I will enjoy the Kempinski practically all to ourselves!
